Melissa is a clinical psychology doctoral student from Pepperdine University, where she also obtained her Master’s in Psychology. Melissa’s research interests center around trauma psychology, including intergenerational trauma and resilience with a special focus on Military and Veteran populations. Melissa’s dissertation examines the effects of family communication, cohesion, and religious coping in the prevalence of psychological symptoms in the offspring of Holocaust survivors. After graduation in May 2017, Melissa hopes to continue working with Military and Veteran populations within research and clinical capacities. Specifically, her goals are to conduct research in trauma psychology and traumatic resilience to provide quality, culturally competent, clinical assessment and therapeutic services to individuals and families.

Melissa, a serious dog lover, has a rescue dog named Remy who is 3 years old.
